Have an 03 Punto with the following problem:

When I do a sharp turn left, there is a very noisy rattle coming from the right hand side of the car. I don't know if its coming from under the bonnet, around the wheel or is it something to do with the steering. When I reverse, and turn the steering wheel completely around, the same noise occurs.

    Any ideas?

And no smart comments about Fiats:D

does the clicking get more rapid the faster you go? it could be the CV joint but those models can also have a tendancy to suffer from diff troubles and it gives the same noise as you discribe, it tends to be at lower speeds when the diff is noticible though

First make sure that all your wheel nuts (on the front right are tight) ...now, before you drive it again.

After that ..it could be what vtec mentioned, but a wheel bearing could also be a likely candidate.

In either case you shouldn't drive much further than your next garage any more.

Good advice. No point in taking any chances - especially if you are unsure of the cause of the noise. It could well be something minor but it's not worth taking the chance.

Checked the wheel nuts - no probs there - will have to head to the garage to see what the problem is.

    Thanks for the replies!

If it happens on full lock moving slowly then it's likely to be a CV joint as vtec said. Have a look at the rubber cover and see if it's split.
