At the moment, I am looking to buy a used car. Had a great subrau back in the 90's so I was checking out the subarus. I saw the subaru justy but for some reason, you cannot get a 2nd hand justy anywhere Ior in very few places). Why are they so rare?

because they were essentially rebadged Suzuki Swifts for the most part of the 90's, then they rebadged Suzuki Ignis's and called them Justys, then they became rebadged Daihatsu Sirions.

Like a Mazda 121, which is a rebadged Ford Fiesta, the Justy never sold well because everybody knew it wasn't the genuine article, both in the sense that it wasn't a Swift, and it also wasn't a Subaru.

Also, the new ones aren't 4WD, which was the only reason you'd buy a Justy anyway.

Also Subaru have a very small dealer network in Ireland and don't even market or advertise the Justy.

The new one isnt a suzuki, though. Its basically a rebadged daihatsu sirion.Daihatsu are owned by toyota. It aint a bad looking car really and the retained values may be a bit better with the subaru badge.i wouldnt buy, however unless the price difference was very small. It also worth noting that the daihatsu sirion is also badged as the perodua myvi and is also on sale in this country.

    Daihatsu Sirion

    Suzuki Justy

    Perodua Myvi

The perodua is easily the best value with that 1.3vvti engine and it seems to have aircon as standard which the others dont

    Thanks for the info.

Im not interested in buying one. I was just checking up on the subarus out there now & noticed that there no 2nd hand ones around

But just out of curiosity, what kinf of reputation does the Sukuzi Ignis have?

The Swift based models had AWD, as did it's predecessor. The Sirion based model is only FWD though.

Check Buy & Sell, they have Justy's up for sale every now and again.
