    hi guys,

i just put a new exhaust on my car - nothing fancy but seems it was classed as a "performance exhaust" i said hmmm better mentioned it to the insurance company (Arran insurance - broker of Hibernian)

.... This has turned into a nightmare....

They what a "Engineer specification" document of all modes done to the car...
Which is only the exhaust. Nowhere does this...

    I’ve tried....
    My local garage
    Local Toyota dealer
    Tuning specialists
    Even tried insurance assessors...

No one does this document and cant understand why the insurance company need it !

    Any advice would be great....

you need to go to the SIMI and ask them to recommend you a person. they are registered engineers

log on to www.midnightclub.ie plenty of members on there have had engineers reports done on engine transplants etc

Any SIMI approved garage/mechanic should do it for you, any mechanic should be able to have a quick look at it and give you the document
