Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Plywood to internal timberframe walls

    Hi,

Timber frame is up and waiting to be covered, hope the rain stays away for another few days!

Question: I have seen another frame where plywood was added to all internal walls.

Is this added purely for structural strength?

What would this add to the sound proofing of the walls?

    Is it worth it?

    Thanks
    Cwboy.

Cwboy, the ply is there to stiffen the internal walls. Typically, you'll see it on internal load bearing walls & the horizontal bridging will then be absent on these. May also assist with fixing items to & may have a small secondary benefit wrt sound transmission.
