    Just wondering if there was a way to improve your ping?

    At present my results are:

    302234033.png

    Pinging boards.ie [89.234.66.107] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57

    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=42ms TTL=57

    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=50ms TTL=57

    Reply from 89.234.66.107: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=57

    Ping statistics for 89.234.66.107:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    Minimum = 38ms, Maximum = 50ms, Average = 43ms

    Ya, overclocking it will give you 1ms extra :D

    Running wirelessly will add a little latency tho, get a patch lead and plug it in and see if you find any difference. Other than that its completely out of your control

    Check with your ISP. I know mine has a PingExpress option for an extra €1.90 that will reduce ping times by around 10ms.

    I have the same issue with the same ISP, but I found if I ping the Dublin server I get long ping's, see:

    But if I ping another, e.g Limerick, Galway, London,etc I get a shorter ping:

    There is a discussion on the other thread about speedtest being a reliable test for pings. Try another server on the site and see how you get on.

    Ha, they probably just prioritize ICMP traffic.
