Steered it from my dad's lap around a field at home at about 5 years of age.

First time I properly drove was an Opel Kadette. Also the first day I drank Poitin. Also the only time I have crashed. :o

Well if sitting on my da's knee when I was a nipper counts than it was one of these

Otherwise my first solo was in one of these:

Jebus - how I remember those checked seats - they were horrible.

God it was that exact model, except in silver!! Lol, well I suppose the plan was if I was able to drive that I'd be able to drive anything! When we got home he used to get up really early on Sunday mornings and take me round the industrial estate in it!

An 88 colt in 1996 ish. cost around 3 grand back then.

had awful handling, steering wheel all over the place at motorway speeds.

I wrapped it around a barrier when it skidded on a wet road, managed to get it repaired somehow

Not to be confused with what was your 1st car.

    Mine

    starletfront.jpg

Up in Co.Down, and yes i did go straight sideways.

But not from trying to do so:eek:

    I was 11

My first car was an 83 5 door version of one of those. Colour was rust brown which was handy as it was around 50/50 rust to Metal by the time I got hold of it ('93).

My first drive was around a car park in my Dad's new Black 2.0 Carlton CDX Auto - would have been around 13.

Well, the first car was my parent's '93 Ford Sierra diesel. Learned how to drive in a field on my uncle's farm. I was 15. This was it:

    93FS01.jpg

However, as for the first overall vehicle I ever drove, it was my uncle's 1950's Fordson Major Diesel tractor when I was 8.

1600 Ford Sierra. I told him i couldn't take the turn into the driveway.
Pops insisted and didnt listen after i protested three times. I said ok so and removed the pier with the quarter panel.

    Pier never saw it coming.:D
