    Just wondering....

    Eg.
    UK Ford Focus Titanium
    Privacy glass STANDARD

    Irish Ford Focus Titanium
    Privacy glass is an OPTION

Do the VRT heads deem it then to be an option an charge VRT on it.

Or is it only items that were option on the car IN THE COUNTY OF PURCHASE?

    Cheers.

Extra is anything deemed as an"extra" by the main dealerships in the lovely isle of ireland minus the top bit :D

so as per your example yes it is an extra, as it is an extra in this country, doesnt matter if your vehicle is originally from the uk.

I find this hard to believe, isn't one of the reasons so many people import is that the STANDARD spec of UK cars is/was much better? I am sure they were only paying VRT on sure fire options, not standard items compared to irish cars.

Write "None" in the box. You'll likely get away with it...

The car is 6 months old so they sent the details off to Rosslare, we'll wait and see. They are obviously trying to gouge every bit of VRT they can. I won't even go into how shambolic the set up was in the VRT office the other day, it was a joke.
