Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Revised Register of Electors and Privacy

I received today the form to fill for the Register of Electors. All in my household are already registered, so the only requirement is to inform the inspector according to a sheet attached.

I notice however that this form now includes an "opt-out" for an edited register, which is to be sold to businesses and direct marketing companies.

I find it worrying the lack of clarity about what will happen to existing registered electors who don't need to be updated. Are they automatically added to this edited register?

I have written already to the county council to ask for clarification on this. I left another issue aside for the moment so they don't loose focus, but I thought that there was either Irish or European legislation in place about opting-in having to be the option (i.e., by default you are not included in any commercial lists).

Is anyone here aware if this practice is dissuaded by any laws or codes of practice?
