Possible Japanese classes?

First thing to say is new to this website, pleased to meet you all.

Is there anyone on this forum who can tell me somewhere I can take Japanese classes for Leaving Cert in Dublin? I've just finished my Junior Cert and would definatly like to do Japanese as another subject for the Leaving Cert. I've been trying to teach myself but I haven't had a lot of luck. I generally need to have someone help me learn things. Also can anyone recommend good books for helping me try to learn Japanese? I want to try to learn Japanese because I'd love to go live in Japan for a while when I get older.

I did japanese for a year in TY on Saturday mornings in St. Michael's in Ballsbridge. It's run by Languages Initiatives.

These classes are fun and will give a good grounding in Japanese

No not at al! They're actually 5th and 6th year classes, I joined the 5th year class and was either going to do it twice or 6th year twice but i dropped Japanese going into 5th year.

I just did Japanese for the Leaving Cert and our class used the following books (all recommended):

Ashbourne Community School (in Ashbourne ) do Japanese. Its done as a subject for 4th/5th/6th years, and there is also classes put on after school two days a week for people who do it as a 7th/8th subject. You should give them a ring. I did Japanese there for my LC. The teacher is brillant!!

You should give them a ring and ask would it be possible to attend those classes. Id say theres a good chance.
