Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I already posted this in distance learning forum but got no replies - apologies for the double post butthought i might get a reply here.

does anyone know if it is possible to do a H.Dip (to teach) part-time. I am thinking about doing it but want to know if I can work full-time aswell. I have a primary business degree and am awaiting results to hopefully be a qualified ACCA member....

Is it for primary or secondary?

You can do an online primary one with Hibernia College, info at http://www.hiberniacollege.com/ it takes 18 months

Or you can do a part time HDip at DCU, it takes 2 school years, see http://www.dcu.ie/prospective/deginfo.php?classname=GDED&originating_school=70

    Hope this helps

While it is technically a part-time course it should be borne in mind that anyone aspiring to a place on the course has to have a placement organised in a school and be teaching regularly. From what I can gather it is essentially aimed at people already teaching and looking to regularise their situation. It does not seem to be aimed at people working in a different job and looking to pick up a qualification in teaching which the college has no guarantee they will use.

Entry to it also includes an interview so there is no easy way around this as I would say there would need to be fairly robust evidence of teaching credentials and ambitions.

You can do a HDIP part time through NUG while teaching in a school.

I also heard that Hibernia college might be introducing a part time course in Secondary education. I have heard this from a few sources over the past few months so might be worth keeping an eye out to see if this materialises.
