Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey guys,

Anyone know anyone with a van that would be up for a quick job - moving a piano from eyre square to down by the docks.

I tried a few numbers in the galway advertiser but they said I'd need a lift on the back as pianos are heavy beasts. I'd need it in the next day or two as someone else might pick it up!

    Thanks!

    Joe

Phone one of the Car Breakdown Recovery fellas and offer them a nixer

Failing that, put wheels on it and move it along the road at 4am next monday morning!

Not a bad idea ... maybe. Wud prefer an enclosed van though.

Piano moving is a bit specialised, as some parts can be very fragile. Try ringing Moloney Pianos in Athenry (they've moved a few for us in the past), or Tuohy Pianos in Bohermore; they'd probably be able to recommend someone.

Hah, Tuohy's haven't been in Bohermore in about ten years. THey're out Liosban now.
I do a bit of piano moving with them, and you don't need any kind of modified van at all. THe handiest thing we use is a short aluminium heavy trolley that we roll the piano around on. THen lift into the van. They're on holiday now but maybe next week give them a buzz?

    Who mentioned a modified van?

They're not that heavy at all. Well, they are, but you don't need a lift. Even if you have no trolley two people can lift it into a van no hassle.
