Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Draw takes place this morning at 11am, Potentially could be one or two tricky games.

    SEEDED TEAMS:
Liverpool; Barcelona; Arsenal; Schalke 04; Juventus; Rangers/Kaunas; Marseille; Steaua Bucharest; Panathinaikos/Dinamo Tbilisi; IFK Gothenburg/Basel; Olympiakos; Fenerbahce/MTK Hungaria; Shakhtar Donetsk; Anderlecht/BATE; Fiorentina; Spartak Moscow.

    UNSEEDED TEAMS:
Atletico Madrid; Sheriff Tiraspol/Sparta Prague; Drogheda/Dinamo Kiev; Levski Sofia; Slavia Prague; Galatasaray; Inter Baku/Partizan; Vitoria Guimaraes; Domzale/Dinamo Zagreb; Beitar Jerusalem/Wisla Krakow; Standard Liege; Twente Enschede; Tampere/Artmedia; Aalborg/Modrica; Brann/Ventspils; Anorthosis/Rapid Vienna.

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid would be a peach of a game especially for Torres,

Barcelona-Partizan,we need them to lose 5 or 6-0 so we can tease them next few years again:D

To be honest when our clubs had decent teams last years we could hope on something in this 3rd round and Red Star was so close to enter CL last year against Rangers but this year both teams sucks so i think no matter who they get they have no chance to go through...

Well having been at the Drogs-Dinamo game the other night I'd say whoever draws Dinamo Kiev will have a difficult tie.
Quick question: could Kiev draw Shakhtar Donetsk or would the fact that they are both Ukrainian mean they will avoid each other? (Same thing with Barcelona and Atletico?)

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid would be the nightmare draw therefore distined to happen!

Please let it be Standard Liege or Drogs.

Hope it's Drogs so I can laugh at all the Irish people supporting a foreign team, against an Irish team.

Same people who claim to "love" Irish football.

Liverpool vs Drogheda would make it even easier for me to support Liverpool.

I don't support every Irish teams,I support 2 of them. The national team and my local team.

First match drawn may not be the actual first match.

    Because of country clash...

    Draw on.

Well they are a league team who happen to be in Drogheda, Ireland. if you are not a fan of the club there is no onus to support them over any other club.

Take it. Away leg first, and it's only a short hop.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

As I said in the Liverpool thread.

If Arsenal have title aspirations in England, then they should take a second-rate Duthc team fairly handily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Eirebear

providing we make it past Kaunas then that should be a fairly handy draw for Rangers. *If and Should*

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,008 ✭✭✭delija_sever029

Anorthosis/Rapid Vienna v Olympiakos Good one for our brothers:D

    Inter Baku/Partizan v Fenerbahce/MTK Budapest

As i said whoever partizan gets they are out,Fenerbahce is way too strong for them

Schalke vs. Atletico will be a cracking match. Liverpool should breeze through, as such I think they'll make it hard on themselves and have Gerrard score a last minute winner :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,008 ✭✭✭delija_sever029

Anorthosis/Rapid Vienna v Olympiakos Already said

Vitoria Guimaraes v IFK Gothenburg/Basel This will be tough, but whoever go in group stage i am not impressed

Shakhtar Donetsk v Domzale/Dinamo Zagreb Tough match,Shakhtar wont have easy matches against croats but i think they will go through

    Schalke 04 v Atletico Madrid I have no idea:eek:

Aalborg/Modrica v RANGERS/Kaunas Rangers to go through on their way, defending and finishing with penalties:D

Barcelona v Beitar Jerusalem/Wisla Krakow No need to comment

Levski Sofia v Anderlecht/BATE If Anderlecht didnt make out for that embarassing first game we will get another sucking team in group stage...

Standard Liege v LIVERPOOL No comment:D

    Inter Baku/Partizan v Fenerbahce/MTK Budapest Fenerbahce easily....

FC Twente v ARSENAL This wont be easy for Arsenal but they are through

Spartak Moscow v DROGHEDA/Dinamo Kiev Neighbours derby, anything can happen...

Juventus v Tampere/Artmedia No need to comment

SK Brann/Ventspils v Marseille Marseille ftw

Fiorentina v Slavia Prague Fiorentina is better one, could be interesting

Galatasaray v Steaua Bucharest Another interesting match,Romanians could make surprise

Panathinaikos/Dinamo Tbilisi v Sheriff Tiraspol/Sparta Prague Panathinaikos to go through also i would like not to:D

I'll be the 1st to say it then: 'They will be dancing on the streets of Standard if they beat Liverpool'
Some other tasty tie Anorthosis (Cyprus) 3-0 up from 1st leg against Olympiakos.
    Spartak Moscow v Dynamo Kiev

    Er, that makes no sense.

    Liege
    is an actual place.

Tis a famous Colmanballs, one of the first, think it was by Motty or Barry Davies after Standard won a UEFA cup match, which is why Jeff Stelling is always going on about it after TNS win some Welsh league match.

I thought it was a play on Des Lynam's "They'll be dancing in the streets of Raith" after Raith Rovers beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final.
