Still doesn't ring a bell, mind you I only ever head out there during the summer when it's nice out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Its very easy to miss, doesn't stand out at all, just looks like another house, garden wall and gate, path, etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Be careful out there people today and tonight, some serious cross winds on the roads.

Pop in an order on Just-Eat.ie.. they have Robertos listed.

Dreading this drive home at 5.30 too.. have only a 15 minute drive but not the nicest conditions all the same!

Then picking up my new car tomorrow.

Take care, it's getting worse. Lots of flying debris as well.

Good luck with the new car.

Well, I said "new" but I mean "used".

I do love me Polo's... so went for an 2003 Black 1.2L VW Polo.

    mediano.jpgmedia1x.jpg

And got a €60 refund on my insurance premium when I changed the details.. but did charge me a €40 administration fee! :(

Yeah, I'd normally spin in the old Oakfield road to the Carraroe Roundabout but it's not the nicest road with a day like this, so might go through town.

Nice car Basquille, best of luck with it.

Weather crazy. My full wheelie bin blew over today. Oh joy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 43,865 ✭✭✭✭Basq

My run of shi*ty luck continues..

Put my hand through a glass jar in a wheelie bin a few weeks back.. and went out to fix my wheelie bin.. and the lid flew back and hit me full-force in the face!

Nice swollen lip for me.. jesus christ, someone up there has it out for me!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,657 ✭✭✭magnumlady

Ouch basquille, that sounds sore. The new car looks fab.

Worst thing that happened me today was that I was putting the bin in the shed to stop it blowing away and the shed door blew back and hit me on the arse.:o

I was hit full force in the face by a wheelie bin lid as well years ago, I still approach them with caution. :/

There's a large tree over-hanging the road up past Centra in Caltragh - looks like it's ready to fall with another good wind. I just rang the Corporation but I think they have Fr Jack manning the phones, bloke was weird, so not sure anything will be done about it.

    Be careful.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,392 ✭✭✭TequilaMockingBird

Rang the Guards instead - very helpful. They said there's trees down everywhere.

Good Luck with the new car, Brian!

At least you didn't get hit in the face with the car door!

I'm just sitting here waiting for the cat to fly by the window mary-poppins style. She's a skinny wee yoke with a stupid love for being out in this wind. Tried to coax her in but she's having none of it so if anybody sees a wee black cat flying around Sligo town grab her!!

The worst thing is everyone laughs! It's the same as a punch in the face, but for some reason because it's a wheelie bin, everyone thinks it's hilarious. :P

Speaking of wheelie bins, I ran one over today. Was left out in the street behind the van and I reversed straight into it - Wallop.

The roads aint the best I'll admit. Had to go to belcarra for a job today and could only get up to about 50 in the van, wind was blowing against me all the way up.

Still though, was an easy return trip with the wind behind me.

Well, was it? I'll be honest. Never really got into the whole Harry Potter thing. Prefer Lord of the Rings.
