Some American on Facebook is joking about drinking "Irish Car Bomb" cocktails to celebrate Paddy's day. Gets angry at me for saying that was pretty disrespectful. They tell me I'm being petty.

I said I'd make 9/11 themed cocktails for the 4th of July celebrations.

    No reply.

Can give but they can't take sometimes, eh?

EDIT: Please no one think in anyway do I find the happenings on September 11th in anyway amusing, I just hate when people disrespect the loss of lives and then when someone points it out to them that if we did this and that, they get really immature back..

I was just giving her an example as well.

Does anyone know the length of the Race course here in Sligo?!
I jog/sprinted 2 laps this morning to get myself back into shape, but I have no idea the distance I ran! :(

EDIT: Ok, I went on their website, 1600 metres but I'm not sure if that's the grass path or the tarmac path.. Probably not much in the difference! I ran the tarmac path anyway so maybe a bit more length added on, probably not enough worth crediting myself with though!

3.2 km in 20 minutes.. Gah. Long way to go :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Keep it up lornen. That would be the grass one alright.

Thanks! Took a jog down to Lidl aswell so I'll be cheeky and smack another 1 km onto my jogging. Was pretty happy I didn't get out of breath or anything embarrassing. The odd stitch due to all the sprinting but nothing the jogging couldn't fix!

Keep up that rate and you'll have a good time at the Warriors run. I'll be keeping up the rear just ahead of the broom wagon.

    ;)

Hoping to carry on and push to maybe 3 laps by next week.
Have seen absolutely f.a on the Warriors Run site about this years registration? Do you know anything about it?!

Also, doubt the broom wagon will be breathing down your neck for the race! I'll end up cheering you on from it I'm sure! :pac:

Hmm, not sure. Only thing I can see on the site is details to be announced. Think the registration does open this month some time though.

Sorry to be giving you the 20 questions run but, do you have to pay to register? More than likely do, I'd just be curious because I'm not exactly loaded, wouldn't mind a bit of a rough heads up so I'm not caught short on the day and left out of it!

I have no idea to be honest, never done it before. Although the places usally fill long before the event I believe.

So if there is a fee, its paid way in advance of the day.

    It's 8 furlongs.. so a mile give-or-take.

Just under 2 miles in 20 minutes isn't bad. An 8 minute mile is considered ideal.. was doing that at my peak (before shin splints).
