    Just want to wish the Sligo senior hurling squad the very best of luck against Louth tomorrow in the Nicky Rackard Cup final. Throw in is at midday and will be covered live on www.rte.ie and on Ocean FM.

    It's like shinty insofar as it's played with a stick and a hard ball. Otherwise, it's much faster, contested at a higher level and played more in the air rather than along the ground. It's the fastest field sport in the world. I'm not sure if that's down to the speed the ball travels or the amount of movement by players. A good game of hurling is a fantastic spectacle of skill and speed.
    Well done Sligo. Hope the footballers were watching. Might shame them into doing better next year.
