According to Michael Johnson, Mick Foley asked Vince McMahon for a release from his announcing duties last week. Johsnon says it may have blown over, and it wasn't a heated argument between Mick and Vince. But, Foley was sick of being yelled at by Vince in his headset for two hours every week.

I dont blame him to be honest.

My first reaction is that this'll blow over. Vince will soften his stance and keep Mick on

It's funny though because there was something in the Observer this week explaining why a commentator's job is not something that someone would willingly walk away from. It also said that Mick's contract is up at the end of the summer anyway, although he was expected to sign again

Foley is known to play games when his contract is up, I think he still has that super agent of his representing him. Remember back to 2004/5 where he played with going to TNA to get a better contract from WWE.

Good riddance to him, he's only an overpaid prostitute anyways.

Maybe it's just me but i enjoyed his promo with Edge on Smackdown. I think he is one of the best there is at cutting promos.

    ^^
there was a thread started on it in appreciation and as i said in that thread 5mins of a foley promo is better than 30mins of a normal WWE show

An over paid prozzy by his own admission though in fairness.
He's no Bobby Heenan at the announce table, but he's no worse then "The Tazz", or modern day Jerry Lawler in my view.
If this is true, maybe a chance of him turning up in Tallaght after all maybe?...

Does anybody else think that this could mean a return to the ring? He didn't ask for a release from his contract, only from his announcing duties. Maybe his promo gave him the need to wrestle again?

No, can't see it happening at all.
