    http://domhyde.wordpress.com/

Dom Hyde has posted pics of the handover to the next roulement in Helmand. This is the start of the operational issue of MTP.

It looks damn good in real light, though I think they'll have to darken the Desert Rats patches a little. And stick them on straight.

This uniform is the same design as the existing ones, the PECOC pattern will probably issue next year.

Manufacturer is SY, they've had plastic body P226 out as far back as late 2008. There's a review of it on Arnies from January of last year. Thought they had a full metal version out before but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I heard they were rubbish. I was hoping it would be by Xin Da Yang who made the PPK and KSC M9 clones.

I'd like to see a gas powered one or a Co2 one, I know we're far off having Co2 powered snipers but still, unless they exist already:P?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

theres a number of Co2 sniper rifles out there at the moment, i reckon we'll see a lot more in the future too, it seems to be gaining the popularity now since green can be unreliable.:)

Nah the Dboys and some cymas have the proper laminated wood, that stuff is obviously one piece of wood. Thats the main thing you are after, wood can be refinished after all :)

The blowback, its just a *Limps system isn't it? You'd want to see a TM clone of their recoil system soon.

    *little metal plate shuffle :P

have to agree, always better to get the laminated wood from the start, as you say wood can always be refinished if you have a good base to start with

Another photo of MTP from Kandahar, showing the latest vest & Mk 7 helmet etc.

    About 15 photos down...

Edit: the vest looks like it may actually be the Hybrid trial pattern, maybe they decided to use the test sets for something while the proper vests are being made. I guess we'll have to wait for some more photos.

I think that might be actual multicam there, the cut doesnt look like the brit one and the pattern doesnt seem to be MTP. :)

meh can't see me using them when I'm snowboarding. Airsoft on the other hand obviously with safety goggles and polycarbonate lenses......

Unnecessarily Gucci? Nah all things Gucci are necessary just don't shoot me while I'm flicking through the menu :p

So you can see what speed your running at? What height your last hop was? Even the most relevant use for them would poss be a ammo counter but considering what you'd have to do to rig it as opposed to the benifits of it..... just not airsoft viable.

The only sort of ammo counter function I could see for it would be if it had a built in mic and software that was designed to count the rounds fired from the sound of an AEG or GBB but it would go wrong if there are other players close to you. Every time you change mag press a reset button and off it goes again.

No point really as you sort of keep a rough mental count as you fire anyway.

how the hell are they able to sell them so cheap?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

The shipping in it is about 35 dolla so in total the pistol comes to about 50-55 quid, not a whole lot at all, but ya have to factor in postage. :)

This is up on Ebaybanned just now, looks very nicely made and with a nice finish. (its for the GBB) I've been waiting ages for a good quality receiver at a deent price,
