Personally Mike, I've come to the conclusion that you're evil. That's the only reason I can think to account for you constantly posting stuff that you know is going to take even more cash out of my pocket!

Joking aside - I'm more interested to see if Ra-Tech or WE bring out the parts for mags that allow you to change from AWSS to open bolt - otherwise I can't see myself investing in a load of open bolt co2 mags with a press already stocked with AWSS mags.

i'm sure they will eventually kev, i'm pretty sure they did for the pdw?? could be wrong though:). Hopefully they'll be reasonably priced.

For the naders among you this is up on ebairsoft. Prob been posted before, apologies if so...

these boys didn't hang about developing a metal slide upgrade for the new tm px 4. Just waiting on the likes of guarder to release their version. Definitely getting to like the look of this pistol, the more i see it:)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I've already got the original sawn-off version, but I'd honestly consider getting this given the price. I already considered getting the more expensive one when it was the only option. It's not at all practical, or even useful, in a skirmish, but Goddamnit if it's not one of the most satisfying and fun pieces I own. I can only imagine the longer barrel and stock on this one making it even more satisfying.

Doesn't the real PX-4 Storm have a polymer slide?

Pretty sure the PX-4 slide is metal. The rest is polymer though.

Yep it is metal alright. The FN 5-7 has a metal slide that is encased in a thin layer of polymer along most of it. Only the front narrow part is exposed metal. Still going to slap a Guarder metal slide on when I pick one up.

Really? I was always under the impression these magpul vids were just cash milking again? I could see the likes of the pistol training etc being of some use but I do recall seeing someone shoot a sniper rifle whilst it was laying on its side on that vid? I just cant see the point in that at all tbh? Particularly in airsoft.

Lower profile maybe? So you dont stand out on the horizon??

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

The point is because it's interesting. It's no more or less informative than Futureweapons for most people. There's a certain "OMGCHRISCOSTA" fanbase, which I don't quite understand, but I can see the appeal in the same way I see the appeal in watching Mythbusters. It's interesting and entertaining, and you might glean some information from it.
They are becoming less and less relevant to the airsoft market though. The Aerial Ops one is particularly useless, but I'd still watch it.

I've been half thinking about picking up the pistol DVDs for a while now. If any shops stocked them, I'd probably have bought them on impulse.

They are actually fun to watch... The rifle and pistol ones have very nice little titbits of information that can be applied, As a fan of big guns, I do fancy seeing what they show the viewer in this one... yeah 90% is impractical or useless to airsoft, but its fun.

Dex: the pistol one is great, lots of useful info for airsofting, mostly ability to target fast and accurately. I used some of the techniques in a pistol game and did rather well...

As for Chris Costa... I have my own bearded warrior... pah! and mine has a machinegun!

(Only Costa I love makes coffee)

    <vomit>

Anyway, I'd like to see all of them out of curiosity and interest, but the pistol one is the only one that interests me enough practically to possibly shell out for it. If they were cheaper, or more freely available in a store, I'd pick up each of them in turn.

You say the sweetest things dear Dexington.

On a more serious note; I believe that Toy Soldiers up in NI carries one or two of the Magpul DVDs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I should clarify, I mean somewhere like close by that I'm likely to be in for a browse anyway. They're the kind of thing I'd pick up on impulse. That said, I've credit in the paypal account I'd forgotten about. Perhaps I should bite the bullet (and swallow the vomit).

[Not sure if a mod moved this to here as I did not remember posting this in airsoft news
thought I posted it in the main forum as it dates back 2008 and 2009 so not sure if
it counts as news, either way I want one]

    whimper...

The GBB action in the video's looks woefully crap! but
would love a lovely GBB FAL. Hopefully some day
a proper one with be released!!

    Looks good,
Can't see how it could be much better than that imo,
what do you have in mind?

Its probably the way the camera did not pick up the movement of the slide back and fourth.
Thought I could notice every few shots it did not cycle fully
or barely moved backwards. You can see what I mean in this vid:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVIQNRbN5FE

Anyone have any more info on who these guys are? looks like something
that never got put into production or there was just a prototype/custom job made up ?

Thats all due to the frames per second on the camera, it would be the same as blinking your eyes really fast as you watch someone fire a GBB in person. some of the frames are just missing where the slide is fully back is all. and with the speed of the slide and the ****ty camera it was prob a lucky few shots that got caught on the camera!
