Nah, ACM is a copy of the realsword i think.

if it was to get around the licencing cost (Since when has china cared about that?) Why would they pop the same trademarks on?

been reading about this on Evike.com.. that would suck, but they make a good point when they say that airsoft guns are realistic but that real ones have been made to look fake for the easy smuggling, ironic really...

    Interesting.

And an opportunity for the Irish contingent to do some good. Perhaps the current IAA might consider collecting some advice and history from our battle with the Irish government. The two political systems are pretty different I greant you but every little helps and showing international support might reinforce their economic arguement.

That would be fantastic, I'm here in CA right now with an airsoft gun to go to a game or two, it would be terrible if this garbage legislation were passed.

As Cruel as it may seem, a lot of the californian airsofters on arnies sat back and chuckled as the UK went through the experience of the VCRA... Welcome to the jungle folks.

In all seriousness, this unfortunately seems far better organised by the govornment than the vcra did, and far quicker through 'senate'. The retailers seem to be very organised though, so perhaps unlike us they have a chance of making it without bickering...

was it just me or did the bolt not look very consitant? or is that just because the gas is freezing slightly like on gbb pistols

Problem with those High Cycles is they only shoot about 220 - 240 fps and its against my religion to open a TM gearbox.

    Exactly.

lol, Those two vids side by side are why I would only buy gbb now.

Chug chug chug, arm shaking recoil and bolt slappin action Vs aeg held completely stable by a 5ft nothing woman while it sounds like a full auto sewing machine.

Whatever issues gbb has about performance in Irish weather its far overshadowed by how many times better they are to hold and fire... them vids side by side say it all

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,901 ✭✭✭T4RGET

GBB is nice but i'll be sticking to the AEG's the performance downfall is a huge in my opinion, raise gun and all the gas escapes because it cooled down? no thanks :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

They would want to do the proper 9mm magazine for that aug smg.

I have never once had that happen simply for the fact that the stanag gbb mags (we version) are 30 round approx so you never get to the point where cool down causes failure. Even if your to reload the same mag by the time you have its warmed right back up... as per normal when you run out of rounds you just move to the next mag which is good to go. The only thing that really limits gbb is the ammo count and price.

I missed unloading 100+ rounds at a time so bought a g&p magpul m4 .... was sold within a month, just no joy to be had with blasting away with something that feels dead in my hands. GBB feels like an even every single round put down range. Those two vids side by side are the definition of how it feels to go from gbb to aeg.

have both system, both have there ups and there downs, gbb are great fun but when traveling you can not beat a aeg for convenience reliability performance and practicality

its a swings and round about argument, both have there place

TMs new recoil engine aegs are very satisfying to use, lots of kerr chunk for your buck.

    Not cheap though.

Toying with the idea of getting a GBBR for the 27 hour thing as I'll have to be rocking the real caps as a PMC...will probably sell it on the mondays after it though :P Hmmm GBB MP7......

It's just down to the FPS of the video recorder that make it look like that!

Just curious, on the talk of GBBRs...

I know it might sound stupid, but how difficult would it be for a gun like M16 to have a large (whispers) paintball stlye gas chamber in the stock? While yes, it would be harder to refil and all that, it would hold a hell of a lot more gas than a mag would, and judging by the pic there, it seems like a straight line from the stock to the firing mechanism/barrel

hmm interesting concept.. seems like it should work :) no more one co2 bulb per mag

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Some of the old classic systems used that, like the sunprojects ones... They took aeg mags, and had gas in the stock, or pistol grip for the m4 one (co2 bulb). A friend has one, a bulb lasts a good hicap, but its nbb... With polar star's revival, perhaps its a matter of time before someone comes up with something less stupid then gas in mags... Plenty of guns have storage space really... Co2 bulbs or thin tanks in stock tubes for m4s... Under the top cover in an ak...

Tbh, green and 134a arent suitable for this function. Semi auto gbbs? grand... full auto rifles? With the weight of the recoiling parts? not really. Tbh, if i had a gbb rifle that took aeg mags, and a small tank that was in a pouch... grand. Would be happy. I don't see any current system really being playable... New tech, and revision of some classic airsoft concepts could produce a workable system. Now? not much is really making me say 'id get that gbb'... its currently an Emperor's new clothes deal tbh.

Thats a good idea but u would have to take into account that the recoil spring is in the stock also u could make it that instead of filling in the gas u could put in a whole gas bottle (like the m4 in fallout 2) and it would last u a full day of skirmish and if u had to ust change it like a mag or instead of using the .12gram co2 usr the .24gram one and also same idea goes into the stock and u could change it when u wanted to.
