Was asking about something like this a few years ago where you had
a gas rig to control/regulate the power of the gun (to keep under 1j)
and an an external line that was hidden via running along your gun sling
(and entered via the pistol grip) Tank can be on a backpack etc
Filled with scuba tank HPA. (High pressure air) I think this was a site that provided the
Equipment: I had asked the IAA about the legalities of such a system
but I cant remember if I ever got a definite answer (this would have been 2008-2009 I think)

    This crowd sell the equipment
    http://www.airsoftgasblowbacks.com/index.html
HPA wont suffer any cool down so you can fire till the gas or bb's run
out whatever comes first and still use standard AEG mags.

Only problem is re-filling your self at home. You would probably end
up needing to take a certain spec paintball like tank to a scuba diving suppliers or paintball place to get filled. Or get/rent a large tank learn how to refill yourself (you need to weigh empty tanks and be very careful)
Not sure about the legalities of this as I think (but am not sure) you need to have some certification to re-fill the likes of scuba tanks so unsure if
anyone can just legally use the same equipment at home or not.
(maybe it just relates to tanks that people will breath out of and actually use for diving)

Disadvantage of filling a smaller tank via a larger scuba tank is with every fill of the smaller tank
you get less and less shots every refill as the larger donor tank empties. (There is good info on the boards.ie paintball section on this)

[EDIT: also interesting to note it mentions on their kits The setting of the psi is not
something that can be done in the field of play which would be great for Ireland
since you ensure the gun is firing under 1j when starting a days skirmishing]

Eirsoft, airsoftguns.ie, mwairsoft to name a few.

In ref to gbb and larger tanks I hate the idea of running lines to backpacks tbh, just feels like I'd be having a ghostbusters loadout or something. What a manufacture should attempt would be a flexi solution with a list of interchangeable parts that could have hidden tanks in them such as m16 style stocks, handguards, peq boxes, m203 fake launchers etc. If the platform could be interchangeable where you get the base and then decide what tanks to add based on looks / gas capacity. An added bonus would be if you could combine multiple tanks such as a gas filled stock and gas filled m203 launcher.... thatd give a huge amount of gas storage.

Lovely idea... but it will never happen. No manufacturer is going to foot the costs of an 'optional' gas system, with all the extra pipework and valves it would need. The guns barely have the space for one system as it is. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea. It just isnt design, or profit viable.

    VFC mp5 gbbr
    nice......

I take it back... I'd buy that. An smg is likely to be fairly viable for gbb...

    lovely little cqb jobbie.

I still don't understand why VFC gave their G36 2 round burst, and didn't give the MP5 a burst function...sense makes not

I just hope it doesn't get raped with Umarex trades...

Oh it will ... it will.

I thought (and that's usually my 1st mistake!) that the mp5 was at the age in it's design where the license for trade marks had expired?

Then again, that might have been the patent, I'm sure it won't be long before I'm corrected though!! :)

Oh it will ... it will.

Think it might escape for the most part. I think I can make out the engraved 9x19cal on the magwell. The other side may get a bit but there is not much room thankfully on the MP5 to do it. The KWA MP7s got off lightly.

Yeah, H&K don't directly make them any more. H&K stopped production in 2001 and since then B&T are the main clone company of the MP5, there are many others.

Looking at the box though Umarex have this one, H&K must still have the MP5 name registered to them.

Trademarks are owned by a company, and have to be authorised to be reproduced. The MP5's likeness rights may have expired, but since Heckler and Koch are still operating, then their trademarks will still be licensed, and thus will likely be reproduced under Umarex's watchful eye

Wait - you haven't seen the really cool one yet:

I see your RPD and raise you an Inokatsu m60vn (just to give people an idea just what sort of recoil an escort kit can give even to something so heavy). Shame I can't find the original Escort video showing one of these on a tripod, bouncing under the recoil.

Incidentally, I require the help of the entire community to stop me.

Please. My bank account will not take it .... link

I need a brown paper bag to breath into now ...

Damn it Lemming, I started saving for the release of the RS M4, a GBB M60 though would be very, VERY tempting though... I might have to reconsider :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 834 ✭✭✭jeawan

That M60 looks like it has a nice kick to it as well.

If you can find the original escort videos (there are a couple) showcased using Inokatsu bodies, there is some outrageous kick to them. As I said; one of the videos has an m60 mounted on a tripod (as in the one designed for the m60, not a camera mount tripod), rigged to fire without human intervention and the tripod is actually bouncing with the recoil.

not cloners persay, Bruger and Thomet make licenced mp5s (I hate the darn clone word)

Why WOULD H&K want to let go of the mp5 licence? its a mahoosive cash cow of a legendary weapon...

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

It's more that they've licenced out the manufacture to B&T of the MP5 while H&K press on with it's new generation replacements in the form of the UMP and MP7.
They're still making plenty of money from it, but they're advancing their own lines in technology and generational terms. H&K are one of the few companies that know when it's time to shelve/licence out a popular line for the sake of making a reliable, next-gen version and advancing themselves and their product (I'm looking at you Colt...).

Not sure where to post this, might as well try here.

Just saw this on a real steel site. I'm not exactly a SCAR fan and this PDW version just doesn't work for me, but no doubt some will find it attractive so feast your eyes on this little beauty baby

    SCAR-PDW.jpg

    http://kitup.military.com/2011/05/the-scar-mini.html

As with the HK416C there's little chance it will be produced in airsoft form but I'm sure someone will mod a SCAR-L to within an inch of its life to produce something similar

That's hideous. Just what the world needs, yet another stubby.

Is it me, or does that remind you of TM's old mini electrics?
