What happens when design dimensions are misinterpreted.

    Discussion in FN:

Person 1: Ok, here's the new SCAR!
Person 2: WTF, why's it so short and stubby?
Person 1: What do you mean? I followed the design brief I was given. You wrote down 630mm in overall length in the brief?
Person 2: No I didn't. I wrote down 830mm in overall length in the brief, the eight was just wrote down wrong.
Person 1: Oh, sorry. My bad.

You may no longer comment on this type of rifle. You have gone to the dark side. Switzerland has got to you:p:p:p:p:p:p

Hardly Peter - if that was the case I'd be gone to Sigs. Did the Sig phase - lack of readily available (i.e. walk into a shop and purchase) mid caps put me off. AK mids are at least purchase-able around Dublin...

  • Registered Users Posts: 661 ✭✭✭elDiablo79

landwarrior in scotland are doin the real ATACS camo think its bout 110sterling for the set, ebairsoft are just doing cheap chinese clone set.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭Stonewolf

    Yeah, that's what I thought.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,532 ✭✭✭Rooky1

There is plenty of the A-Tacs uniform on ebay.
Made by PROPER, about $70 for the shirt and $70 for the pants and about $20 for the boonie hat plus shipping.
    Very tempted myself!!:)

Not sure where to post this, might as well try here.

Just saw this on a real steel site. I'm not exactly a SCAR fan and this PDW version just doesn't work for me, but no doubt some will find it attractive so feast your eyes on this little beauty baby

As with the HK416C there's little chance it will be produced in airsoft form but I'm sure someone will mod a SCAR-L to within an inch of its life to produce something similar

    It's in the making :pac:

As lovely as that Sten looks (and it's a what? mk.V? mk.VI?), I question the age of that video TNTQ.

Escort, alas, went out of business a couple of years ago AFAIK.

looking at the wording used... 'escort powered' and the look of the gun, it might be a custom project?

Gas nerds get quite extravagent at times lol.

  • Registered Users Posts: 243 ✭✭doubletap

it looks custom, the trigger housing is either a MK2 or MK3 not a MK5

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,551 ✭✭✭swiftblade

It definitely looks custom to. Look at some of those welds or the front end. Intriguing...

I don't know if it's the video but the blowback seem very "dull" to me. Dosen't have that "clank"

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭Stonewolf

If you held a real one by the magazine it would pull slightly in the magwell and significantly increase the likelihood of jams. Since he clearly does exactly that and there is no jam I must pronounce this gun historically inaccurate!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

yup, not very stenlike at all :P
still, a gbb would be nice.

Had some guy the other weekend try to convince me you can use mp40 hicaps in a sten... though he was the same guy that said his TM p90 had been 'factory upgraded' by tm with a 'dual' piston design *rolls eyes8

you can use mp40 mags with a sten it takes a bitta modding to get a very good hi-cap tho :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Oops, edited, noticed you meant a bit of modding to make the mp40 hicap work...

well, no, it doesnt really work. Its side mounted, so the gravity to feed bbs into the hopper that winds and shoots them up the spout into the gun wont load... its not got a spring loaded 'plate' like the p90 mags... so its a bit iffy really. Anyway, hicaps in a sten are herrasy!

Just use the KA mids :D its one gun that deserves realism! (ish)

ASG (AGM) and Viva arms stens take mp40 mags like the real one. And the hicap wont feed on its side, now will it?

No I ment you can mod a mag into a great decent Hi-cap

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Sure enough it works for an mp40, but it wont work for the sten, as it feeds on its side.... no gravity.... bad gravity!

New Raptor MOSFET that replaces the trigger assembly in the gearbox.
    index.php?option=com_joomgallery&view=image&format=raw&id=348&type=img
Some time ago we puplished news about a new kind of MOSFET that takes up no additional space but instead just replaces the original trigger switch assembly, the AWS Raptor. It finally has been released two days ago for V2 gearboxes in both a front and back wired configuration. Though within only one day all of the over 100 units have already been sold out! It looks like this MOSFET is going to be very popular. If you are interested in one of these as well, you might want to check out AWS's site at June 10th, as this is the day the Raptor FETs will be restocked.
A version for V3 gearboxes will follow soon as well.
    Visit http://www.awsairsoft.com for more details.
