Probably down to an anodizing process they use.
Cheap and easy usually always wins.

    The odd colour bronze,
It's probably due to the coating process.
It's like electroplating, but not really.
Basically a process where they create little microscopic tubes, pours actually, on the surface of the metal with acid and then fill those tubes with a dye before closing the tubes off. Making the metal look like its a coloured metal instead of painted.

Yes I put a z instead of an s when I spelt it.
I know its not exactly how it works, but the is not a how to thread so I didn't go into detail.

Ah, only saw your last post describing it, didnt see you say the process name... I wasn't correcting your spelling!

Essentially the acid eats the ozidised coating of the metal, and the 'dye' is held in solution, the charge if I remember, bonds the ions in the solution to the surface... creating a new oxidized layer with colour... We did it to coke cans in school :D

why do they always make it a shiny copper colour its just wrong

might have more to do with the tm photos, they do a large amount of editing and it can throw of the colors, tm are normally very good with finishes these days, and a slightly metallic fde look is accurate the real still
Cheap and easy usually always wins.

tm do not get away with going cheap, with there primary market being japan they do not get away with it :)

    No, I was correcting myself.
A friend of mine taught himself how to do it and built his own anodising station for car parts he made and showed me how to do it.
He was only doing a clear coating for polished parts as a finish instead of Laquer. Billet hand cut car badges and such

    Still waiting on that TMP.

Steyr TMP is dead, it's the MP9 by B&T now and KSC/KWA make them.

    FNP maybe?

Would love a FNP or a high power from TM or KWA. Yep your pretty much spot on about the TMP. Last bit on info was a mock up about four years back http://www.airsoft-news.eu/e107_plugins/autogallery/autogallery.php?show=Events%2FShizuoka+2007+%28Hobby+Japan%29%2Fgun_0037.jpg&newwindow=1

TM have been producing a range of these for years.
Designed to be used with high grade .12 bbs.
It contains plastic gears fitted directly into the gun (no seperate gearbox). They run on 4 AA batteries.
I bought a dozen of these a few years back, they are ok for a laugh but not for a skirmish.:)
