The action sounds very good!. I just do not get gas shotguns though especially non shell ejecting ones, you can get a decent springer like a G&P cheaper, no need for gas, less maintenance blah blah, only thing you are missing is the pssst of the gas exiting the barrel.

Well the hope is that with a gas shotgun the pump is a hell of a lot easier to pull, hard to tell from the video if that is the case. What I like about the marui is being able to switch between 3-shot and 6-shot.

Here's why the TM M870 is the ultimate shotgun in airsoft:

    - It's metal
    - It's tri-shot
    - It's six-shot
    - It's shell fed
    - It's NOT shell ejecting
    - 5 or 10 shots per shell; replacement shells easily available
    - Low resistance pump; the action is used purely to load BB's as opposed to cocking pistons
    - It's legal in Ireland; optimised for shooting at 1 joule
    - It's an M870

G&P springers are, in my opinion, not shotguns - they operate like rifles, and as such I would categorise them thusly. They're also magazine fed, which sucks...because the whole point of a shotgun (like a revolver), is being able to put a shell in. The problem is you don't want the shells to eject because albeit awesome, it's a pain in the ass. So that rules out the Maruzens (which are plastic, and crap on 6-shot).

The tri-shot plastic ones are the best on the market because they're cheap, reasonably effective, shell loaded, though suffer from entirely plastic exterior and lackluster performance compared with an AEG (with the exception of the Marui tri-shots, which are fantastic performers). The pump mechanism is also quite stiff, requiring a very firm pull which detracts from the action-hero ethos of your best "Hasta la vista, baby" not to mention punctuating every line you utter.

This new M870 takes the best of all worlds, and rolls them into one awesome little package which shows genuine innovation, and something that is sorely needed...especially as far as shotguns are concerned

I get what your saying, but TM already have shell loaded springer shotguns and good ones at that and cheaper, the shells are just fancy magazines albeit a nice touch for manufacturers that chose that design. Now it would be nice to rock a load of shotgun shells down the ole chest rig all the same :).

Don't get me wrong the TM gas shotgun is a nice piece, and the six shot feature is pretty cool also but my lessons in airsoft regarding gas operated airsoft replicas even my beloved pistols, especially in the winter is they can suck, some more than others, require more maintenance, which I personally do not mind but some may not be bothered then wonder as to why my expensive shotgun has packed in, granted it more than likely will have TM reliability but zero maintenance even on a Marui will cause problems down the line.

It's like picking a GBBR over an AEG, practicality always wins in the long run, regardless of what cool features the latter has, this still does not prevent people from buying them (me included) but If I were to pick a shotgun I'd go with a springer over gas.

For those of us who were excited about the potential marui tar-21 etc, sorry it looks like those "crazy dudes" have been at the special tea again.

Good to see a HK416 coming out though...big gap in the market for those:pac:

In terms of innovation the only thing worth mentioning is the long await hk45 and fabled m&p but in terms of the "Devgru 416" it's all a bit meh. Their regular 416 is a thing of beauty and I can't see why they needed to make changes to it (even if its an additional model).

As for that poxy boys Tavor....serves me right for believing the Internet, had really hoped it was either a high cycle or a recoil shock. They must be really working hard on a new line of model trains!

Seems the externals are based of the US's MSAR STG, just with a Styer A1 receiver. If they release a A2 version, they can take my money to feck! (Looks like my prayer has been answered!)
