Yikes MSRP $195! Nice find but i'd stick with the milspec turbofans for that money.

I'm considering getting one of these to replace my ak74, just need to get a few cans of tan krylon and an acog and I'm good to go!

Thats one strange stubby looking thing. I quite like it. And for only $100 minus vat and shipping you cant go too wrong

For once I think its based on a real rifle, my big issue with all these stubbies etc. is most of them are far from based on a real rifle, airsoft in my opinion is about realism, and a realistic rifle is a big part of that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

If by "based on a real rifle" you mean totally made up, then you are correct. Christ that's ugly. It's not sure what it is, a stubby, a patriot a carbine or a paperweight.

The closest thing to that, which does actually exist, is the Patriot Short. It has a hear shield, rather than a RAS, which covers half of the oversized compensator. It has no stock, but the buffer tube does protrude. I've seen that stock available under the name M231 but I've never seen it actually used on anything.

I'd quite like a patriot with c mag purely because of metal gear solid...but i couldn't take the uberleetness status i'd get on the field

Its used on the m231 :D

At least this latest fallacy could operate as it actually has a buffer tube assembly and gas tube, but who cares, I can't believe I'm discussing a stubby based on an m4, when what they should release is a stubby masada, scar or g36. Oh yeah.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,614 ✭✭✭Toasty113

Stubby g36? Just fold the stock!

I'm not sure if this is news but anyone who likes M249s should take a look at ehobbyasia, theyre doin a special on the star model

Oh rly  never would have thunk it :D

Limited edition probably be as rare as hell and will require the sale of a kidney.

So I guess you eirsoft boys will be packing these shortly ;)

Us mere mortals can only look on in envy.

I like it, but I'd end up getting the black one and swapping out all the black MOE parts for OD PTS parts. The tan one would look better with black PMags and either an ACOG or an Aimpont on a low profile bracket mount. I like tan/dark earth, but there's such a thing as going overboard with it.

I'm liking the look of that.

Maybe if I break some ridic sales target I might get a prezzy

    :P

there was a bulk buy thread on here last year posted by KD, best thing to do is PM him and see what his opinions on them were after a good bit of use, I remember hearing 1 or 2 of them went to sh1t though. :)

    I got one off KD.

Not bad at the start. Filled the mags nicely for a couple of days. The only problem is that the plastic gears tend to go their own ways. You need to take it apart and refit everything back together on a fairly regular occasion (read:after every skirmish day) to get full mags.

If someone knew someone else that could make mehal gears that wouldn't jump away from each other I would happily give them cake or cookies. Their choice :D.

ESS now seem to be fully embracing the needs of a large section of their customers. They now have a model of goggle specifically adapted for airsoft, not to mention a new website specifically for airsoft.

Yeah it's nice to see ESS taking notice of the airsoft market. It's just a shame they've decided to charge $195 for their only airsoft specific goggles. Standard ESS Turbofans aren't even that money, and they're (supposed to be) mil-spec.
I've searched high and low on the site too, and can't find any explanation as to what this "airsoft-essential cortex clip" is.
