despite the bastadised rails on the folding stock version, that could be a tidy cqb gun, if the stock is solidly fixed to the receiver.

Airsofters who use replicas of the SA80/L85A2 might be interested to know that "Combat and Survival" magazine are reporting that the British Army have decided to replace the plastic front grip with a rail system.

Daniel Defense [sic] have been chosen to supply a new fore end, which has 4 standard Picatinny rails. The top rail hinges up to allow access to the gas system. 12,000 have been ordered. Also selected is the vertical handgrip by Grip Pod Systems, which includes a bipod. Airsoft versions of this grip are available already.

So it looks like Tommy will now be easily able to mount whatever lamps, sights or lasers his heart desires, and will no longer need to use "Bands, Rubber" to hold the grip together. Spiffing news, chaps, carry on!

seen a few about in iraq pitty the only ones available at the moment are the real steel version running at 400 - 500 usd

Finally they've done something to the SA80 that makes it look like a gun. Id actually be haft tempted to get one with that front end. the SUSAT really makes it.

nah its defo a regular battery, just turned sideways. i have the RIS version and it comes with the same battery.

Yeah i would say so. I know some people will disagree, but the ACM is more powerful and upgrades are easier to come by.

The ROF is actually slightly slower on the TM.

Anything with a rail eh?

I still want the full collection of L85 variants. The fact that Star/Ares make the whole lot for a bargain price is just too bloody tempting.

Having used both i think the tokyo marui p90 triple rail is nicer but the acm aint bad at all

I lol'd when I saw that foregrip with ejecting bipod.

I remember getting that thinking it was cool, then realising it was horrid looking..... fits well on the R/L/ROFL 80

Yeah it's getting quite popular to just wear the one on your shooting knee (the one you kneel on). They're awkward at best when doing a lot of moving, so in this case one is better than two IMO
