    The deterioration in the public finances is now so great that Brian ( and Brian) are hoping that the public willl step in to help them with the hard decisions that have to be made.

    Note that July alone was down €770m on the month and that with a strong uptick in new car sales which will not be repeated .

    There shall therefore be a mini budget in late September ....probably with the Dáil roused from its slumbers a tad early ....but not too early of course.

    This thread is for those of you who want to help Brian ( and Brian) stay under the ECB borrowing limit of 3% of GDP for 2008 , thats between €5bn and €6bn in total and do remember that they appear to have borrowed all of it already .
