Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Motorhomes and cars

First of all I have a caravan not a motorhome so please go easy on me.

We have seen a trend recently where people turn up at campsites with both motorhome and car. When we ask why they have both, it is usually so that they can leave the motorhome on site and take the car when they want to go to the shops or go touring etc.

Do many of you motorhomers do this or do you think these people have bought a motorhome without thinking about how they will use it ?

I did see it a lot in France this year. If you are towing the car that would seem ok. It's handy to be able to go off for a spin without packing up eveything, especially if you have an awning.

I wouldn't fancy driving the MH and car in a convoy though.

I don't think people didn't think about how they would use the MH, rather it's just like another accessory that people feel they need with them (albeit a large accesory), like a satellite dish, canoe, etc etc etc

Unless you can afford to do it this way:

or tow the car (or just bring a bicycle/scooter)

I would suspect you'd be better off with a caravan if you intend to just have the motorhome stationary for most of your holiday.
