    Hey,

Recently moved house and need to pick up a few bits and pieces! Wonder if anyone knows good places in Dublin to buy curtains, rugs and 'art'? Don't want or need anything too fancy or luxurious but nothing completely rubbish either. A bit of a bargain would be welcomed! In terms of art I wouldnt want anything expensive or from a fancy gallery, just a few pieces to brighten the place up.

    Cheers

try nicholls on earl street or guineys on talbot street. the arnotts bargain basement on middle abbey street would be another one to consider

You can often pick up some very nice pieces in TK Max in blancharstown if you have a keen eye.
I would advise avoiding weekends and try to get there midweek. If you hit it when a container has just come in midweek you can be very lucky. the good stuff gets swiped almost as soon as it is put out!

Heaton's is also good. they have a good branch in blanch and tallaght.
keep an eye on Arnott's bed linen department as they have regular mid season sales and you can get some lovely curtains etc for half the price. Just keep an eye out!

Dunnes sale for curtains and rugs, Dunnes, TK Maxx, and that place on Camden Street for reasonable art. Alternatively Ikea for all of the above

Check out the people's art on St Stephen's Green on some Sundays during July,August and Sept where some art pieces are very reasonable and you will have something original. All types of art for every taste :)

I know art is sold on Merrion Square every Sunday as well.
