You can check the map here for spots:
    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&hl=en&msa=0&ll=53.735716,-7.470703&spn=4.54314,14.458008&t=h&z=7&msid=112891371932527509525.00044e5f13b9666b12191

There's not much surf in Redstrand, you probably heard about "Long Strand"
wich is not too far; I wouldn't recomment it to beginners though, as it has strong currents, rips and can be quite big. We had 8 to 10 foot yesterday
and even bigger the day before; The best of the summer but god they were big

Inchydoney is really safe on the right part.

Barley Cove can be pretty good at mid tide, but geographically it's a good way down (i.e. as far as you can go). Can be strong rips when there's a good swell and often there's a bit of a sand bank which can cause waves to break, then recede and break a second time closer in. Stony beach is meant to be safest and usually quieter, but waves seem prone to breaking very close to beach near high tide as the top end of the beach is quite steep.

Inchadonny and Garretstown are suitable for all levels really. The more time you spend surfing and move up a level then it's time to find bigger spot's.Have you tried Garrylucas around the corner from Garretstown?

Every beach break has it's hazard's,just stay away from the rocks either end of Garretstown that's where the rip's are.Ask the lifegaurd where the best spot is on any given day.Or you can just surf near where the surfschool are giving lesson's.;) Sometimes the whole beach get's redflagged!!!
