Seriously though, it will be very handy to have Wi-Fi access inflight.

Lol, afraid not, SAS & Lufthansa both had inflight WiFi (by Connexion) at least 2 years ago. Connexion stopped supporting though due to a lack of customers. I only ever looked at my Frequent Flyer miles on it as the rates were quite expensive. The last few months of it were free, so made use of it en route to BKK, but tbh aside from a couple of "I'm on a plane" emails I wasn't all that interested.
