Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

a friend gave me an old laptop to tidy up.

Is there any way to bypass the windows login password or

will I have to reformat the hard drive and start over?

    Thanks

If its XP Home Edition just boot into Safe Mode (press F8 a few times when you see the Dell Logo) and you will be given the option to log on as Administrator in safe mode with no password required. Once logged in as Administrator you can then remove the password for the other user account.

Or Ctrl+Alt+Del at the log-in screen . Then log in as Administrator (password is usually blank , as XDA intimated) . Change or remove user's password in Control Panel/User Accounts .

if all else fails then use this http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
it won't reveal the old password , it will just reset it
    - you would loose any encypted ntfs folders
