Either hardware or software. Anything that's involved in the recording process that has made it easier for you and has helped you to get better results

I think number 1 would have to be my monitors (Focal Solo6).
They've improved my work a hell of a lot.

    My Piano.

From finger dexterity to theory to arrangement, there is no single greater tool than a piano. I have a few keyboards, but even the high-end ones don't have the tactile feedback or the overtones/assonance of a decent piano.

Pianos - the instrument with the original reverb :D

I don't have it anymore but my M-Audio Axiom was one of the best buys ever for me.

Of my current set-up, presuming I cant say "my iMac" or "Ableton Live", it would have to be my K-Station, which integrates perfectly with V-Station, giving me a dedicated hardware controller for a great VST (VA) synth.

teamdresch, what monitors did you have before you got the focals??? I'm really tempted to try out the twin6, i hear great things about them

Favourite piece of kit is always the one I just got. Ashly SC66-A
Right now it's fantastic on everything but once the novelty wears off I'm sure it will be mainly for guitars and bass.
(I only got it last week)

my oktava mk12 matched pair ,
I just performed the dorsey mod on them ( upgraded the internal pre amp components ) and they sounded damn great before , now they sound just fantastic .

not for the fainthearted though , that mod .
    the boards are tiny .

For live my favourite would be one of two mics. Either:

    Shure KSM9
    Shure Beta 91

    I Had event TR-8s.
    Quite a step up.
I'd definitely demo the Focals, they're excellent.

Favourite piece of kit in the studio is our Manley stereo comp, but of what I actually own it's my copy of Vienna Symphonic Library Special Edition! Not really to do with recording but lots of fun. :)

Reading the original post, I get the impression you're not looking for instruments, so I'll say the Eventide Eclipse. It's like an instant betterizer.

Okay, sorry, but this is post #25 and I'd really like to have a working .sig.

The Massive Passive? That's "from my cold, dead fingers" hardware, according to everyone I know who has one.
