Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Product Key?

    Hi All,

A mate has a HP laptop that he purchased last year. It's got Vista Home Premium on it. Been working fine until now.

When he starts it up he gets asked to go online to purchase a product key for Vista. If you choose to cancel it logs you back off.

The laptop had vista on it when he bought it so unless MS have introduced some sort of annual subscription with Vista, I don't know what this is?

Is there a way I can find the original product key in windows or the registry and try and re-enter it? It does give me an option to enter a " new" product key.

    Thanks in advance.

There should be a sticker on the machine with the product key. There have been a few problems where people were falsely told they have illegitimate product keys. If your man happens to be an affected user, get him to call Microsoft. Nothing to worry about as long as it's a legit licence. They'll sort it out.
