Yeah, driving rain and thunder all day, one of my mates is stranded on the M1, apparantly loads of people have abandonned their cars due to the floods. Quite the blow for Armagh fans...

It's been a pretty decent day in Sligo so far, starting to get a bit of drzzle now though.

Northside Dublin got a constant bucketting of godpiss from about 430 until 6, and it's still raining now at 630pm.

Ballymun road going Northbound is just Hell on Earth and I imagine Swords road is worse.

Not so bad in Cork. A bit rainy, but nothing major.

I don't mind personally, quite like the rain and don't drive :pac:

I've just returned home after a day in the city centre. Without a coat. Or an umbrella.

God, I haven't been so drenched in quite a while! Summer me hole.

Yeah apparently Glasnevin Avenue is completely flooded. There's a brief lull now so I was thinking of going for a cycle to see how bad it is.

My daughter is stuck in inpassable flooding on the M50

And my Bro-in-Law just arrived to tell me that the south bound lands of the Toll Tunnel were open (free of charge) to releave traffic on the M1 due to flooding at Coolock/Santry.

It's nuts here. Was on me way home from training and just ran through it.

    Great fun:D

M1 flooded just before the POrt Tunnel too. Traffic can go no where.

Jaysus - what time was that at? Took us an hour to get out of Omni today (partially because it was close to closing time but a lot because Irish people panic at the first sight of rain and become psychos behind the wheel) - luckily got a call before we got out to say to avoid Santry Lane; went right down the Swords Road which was busy but not flooded.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

Boyfriend is stuck on the bus in city centre, traffic is mental apparently. Not much flooding in Ballymun just little bits... Might there have been a crash on the m50 also? Lots of ambulances and firebrigades going past my apartment on Ballymun Road...

Omni is the Shopping Centre in Santry btw Peared.

Just heard from a friend she had to escape ballymun by driving on the footpath and that was before it got realy bad. One car on fire too for some reason.

We had some lovely sun today in Kilkenny. Rain started about 2 hours ago but its just showery. Its crazy to see the pics of Dublin. I lived there the last time the quays and Tolka brought the city to a standstill. After that I thought there was going to be some sort of flood relief scheme on the Tolka?

Phew, my daughter just arrived home.

Eight hours driving time from Tipp to Dublin & three of those on the M50 from Blanch to N32.

Maybe the world ends tonight :pac:
