I had heard a few people talking about this and never got round to viewing the line up, so thanks for the link!

Its a weird mix. Is it a dance festival? It is mostly DJs but Republic of Loose and Ham Sandwich are notable exceptions to this rule.

Theres a world music stage and the main stage is also indie/alternative (republic of loose, autamata, kila etc).

Then two electronic areas as far as I can make out.

ITs right up my street anyway music-wise.

No not at all, But like to me republic of loose are good, really good and i was wondering how they could be attracted to a modest location if you will. I'm not bad-mouthing it by any means i think it's great. Is the solas gig big? This is the first i heard of it.

    What's the story on tickets?

A few weeks ago, I went to the see The Republic of Loose....in the Fox and Goose!

RoL are very good, Im a big fan, but they are still very much an Irish band appealing to an Irish market.

Tickets are still on sale on www.tickets.ie and www.ticketmaster.ie

They work out about €8 cheaper on tickets.ie as their booking fees aren't as extortionate.
There's a max of 3000 or 4000 tickets being sold apparently.

Should be a good festival :)

Oh I dont think they're bad at all.

But they're playing every backwater in the country this summer. Thats why I wondered if you were joking.

I also dont think this is a modest location or gig. Its a pretty good line-up. More attractive to me (and a lot of others) than the picnic.

Will be skipping RoL, Kila etc. and sticking to the dance tents.

    They look great!

Ah it looks cool all right but the picnic is still the pick for me :D

So cool there is such a big festival so close to us.

Just a quick question, might be silly.

If you get just a day ticket, I want to go on saturday, can you use the camp site that night?

    Cheers. :)

    Check out these photos...

They only appeared on the website yesterday so I'm assuming they were taken yesterday.
If it hasn't rained in Carlow today...it mightn't be all that muddy...hopefully :)

Mud mud mud mud, no signs, no schedule, some tents not running at all, power problems at some stages, more mud mud mud, bad lighting between venues, poor crowd, mud mud mud, Kettle tent located at the end of long dark walk, mud mud mud.

Had a laugh Saturday night mind. And Paidi Ahern and Alex Under very good. But Sunday was bleak there.

I had a bleak Sunday. A 'never again' sort of Sunday tbh.

Saturday night was good craic though.

The most disorganised sham of an event I have ever had the misfortune to attend.

Couldn't have been more than 400 people on site.
No contingency for bad weather other than the occasional bit of straw
    Zero lighting at night
No attention paid to health and safety
Camp Site was a ridiculously long hike from the entrance
Mud was 1ft deep in places - INSIDE the tents!!
Staff were clearly out it and no one seemed to be in charge

That's not to say it didn't have the potential to be a great festival. The tents themselve were perfectly sized and the wooded pathways were cool and the lineup was great.

I think it was a case of the lunatics taking over the asylum.

That was the most upsetting thing. For a brief moment on Saturday evening the sun came out and the crowd was trickling in and the music was thumping and I thought this was going to be Life Mk II - though the setting not half as good as Life.
