Selling a van on HP

    Hi All,

    Not sure if this is the right forum but I was just wondering if if anyone could give me some advice as to the best way to go about selling a van that is still on hp.I have changed jobs and the new one is giving me a company van so I no longer need my own. Its 18mths into a5yr agreement. the van is worth about 17k and there is about 13k left on hp.

    Its very hard to try and sell privatly as people are understandably weary of taking over repayments etc..

    Does anyone have any other options?

    You may have to talk to the leasing company but in theory what you can do is pay off the remaining amount owing on the HP contract (likely subject to a certain charge or penalty) and then sell it on. It's probably a good idea to be certain you have a buyer first though
