I think he was asking did you do a GSM 175 cos that was fast.

If you done 175 did you have to go offshore to get the grant?

That was really fast ... my 175 took a year. You must have something.

Were you on a 457 visa Hussey and went to PR by yourself?

In other news I have an interview with INZ next week regarding my PR there!

Ah that makes sense. I read in other threads that ENS took a few weeks not a few months hence the confusion on my behalf.

A couple of us have no intention of ever living in Ireland again.

Might pop back for a pint and chat but not for good.

Hence they will only get us out of "Here in a box".

i think i just got my 457 and i had to tell someone.... :D
Bit of an anti climax to be honest....i just logged on to check the progress and see if i had to give any extra info and there it is....Applicant approved.

i kinda expected my migration agent would have told me but then again she has messed up everthing else so far.

4-8 weeks my bollox. It took less than 2 weeks.

Kayak.com is good for flight searches. Find it a bit overwhelming in terms of the info it sends back to you though - I prefer to just look up different airlines and compare the prices and flight times.

For travelling within Australia check out Virgin Blue and Jetstar, travelled with both of them and are good - we travelled up and down Oz and over to NZ with them - I travelled from Sydney up to Whitsundays, down to Brisbane, back to Sydney, on to Christchurch, Queenstown, back to Sydney via Christchurch for less than €500! Best advice is look early and book fairly early too, and keep a look out for deals.

Etihad.com are great to fly with to Oz.

I'm pretty sure I know who this is.
She had my friends application for 457 and forget to lodge it on time, long story short, he is now at home waiting for it to go through. Cost of flights, plus however long it takes to get the 457 out of work. I'd be fuming.

Quick question, how much would I expect to pay for PR. Say ENS, with and without an agent (is it a good idea to try without the agent)

Yea it is a nice feeling of calmness and success! Hard to describe but very cotton wool.

skills assesment - around the $300 mark (depends on area)
    PR - $2300 (I think)
    Police cert (aus) $50
    Health check $290

I would say apply for PR on your own (unless you have a big rush)
The hardest part is skills assessment, PR form itself is easy.

So I'm looking at 3-4k, thats ok.
The hard part is sorting out the E part in ENS, need a sponsor (as I came in at 110/115 points, 5 short for independant)

Does that 110/115 include the IELTS English test? If you do that its gets you 25 rather than the standard 15 for the Irish or Brit passport.

If you are going on an ENS to your PR you dont need a skills assessment but have to be working here for 2 years with the same company. Thats my understanding of it.
So 457 visa with a company, 2 years later you can go to PR via ENS. Much quicker, cheaper and less hassle.
