Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Well lads

I got a provisional bike licence when I was 16,(now 26) and drove a 50cc scooter for a year or so on it. I then moved to a car so never reapplied for another when it lapsed. Tell me this with the current laws etc, what would I have to do to get another bike licence?? I believe that due to having a bike licence before the new system means I don't need to sit a theory test but I'm sure I got be wrong on that?? Also what kind/size bike would I be restricted to?? 1 lad was telling me that I would need to have a 50cc for a year and then a 125cc for 2 year's but surely thats not right is it??
    Thanks in advance..

Funny this, i was taxing a few cars in the tax office today and a lad sitting next to me was renewing his licence and with a similar story. He never got the bike licence put onto his full licence (and hasn't driven a bike in ten years.) I was interested as to what would happen so i listened on  and from what i did hear, he wasn't getting his bike licence. "They had no records of it". I had to go before i heard anymore

If it's lapsed for more than 5 years you need to re-apply for a learner's permit which entails a theory test.

You can apply for an A1 or A license, A1 allows you ride a 125 and nothing higher, an A restricts you to 33bhp for the duration of your learners permit and for 2 years after you pass your test.

Best off applying for an A.
