Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rent a room??

    Hi,

    I have a few questions in relation to the Rent a Room scheme, maybe some one here can help me?
    I have a house with my sister, we both live there.
    We have a spare room, which our unemployed brother is moving into. He is hoping to move in soon.
    He is on the dole. He doesn't get rent allowance at his current address. He is going to reapply once he moves in with us.
    Now my questions are, are we entitled to the rent a room scheme? and if not, will we (my sister and I) have to pay extra tax on account of him living with us?
    And also, would he be entitled to rent allowance living with family members?
