Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi there,

My job has just moved to city west and i'm thinking of moving out that direction. Where would be a good place to live (rent) thats nice, safe, with a few parks and relatively close to town?

    Any recommendations would be handy

Plenty of places to rent in Citywest and Saggart although I wouldn't call either close to town by any means. You are looking at least between 40 minutes and an hour+ to town on the bus, depending on the time of day or about 25 quid in a taxi. The Rathcoole and Corkagh parks and some nice countryside are nearby. Depends on what you want really: if you want to live somewhere extremely quiet (Almost country village-like) and convenient for work, Saggart is great, especially if you have a car, but if you want to be closer to town, you should just commute to work. :)

By the way, Tallaght is only about 2-3 miles from Citywest and there are public and private bus services between them. There are plenty of places to rent there, and the luas takes about 50 minutes in to town.

How about Lucan? It's 30mins from town on the bus and is 15mins to Citywest by car.
You can stroll down by the river to Leixlip through the Demesne and there's Willsbrook Park. Corkagh Park is also only a few minutes away on the outer ring road.

I've been in Lucan two years now and still love it, particularly the village on a Saturday morning. Can't quite put my finger on it but I just really like it. :)
