    anyone know why a 1MB BB perlico connection would only be getting download speeds of around 12 kbps??

    browsing is fine but downloads are terrible. updates take forever. did a speed test and downloads were 868 kbps approx.

    any ideas?

    Are these http/ftp downloads or downloads with the likes of bittorrent or P2P?

    nope not torrents or anything just regular downloads (http?) for example - downloading avg free edition and also downloading windows updates took forever

    could this be a line issue? i'm think not since the speed test came in at approx 868kbps on several goes. so would it be the settings on the pc?
