Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I must try this at the weekend.

In parts of Southern America they use ground coffee to clot bleeding wounds. Amazing the stuff you pick up along the way.

Seconded. All though they aren't the best texture wise. You can get fairly buzzed if you eat enough.

Hmmm thanks guys - food for though! Maybe I'll track down some nice high cocoa content organic chocolate and have some fun with my coffee beans :)

The nomadic tribe of Ormoros somewhere between 1000bc to 500ad ate coffee. They crushed it, mixed it with fat, forming little balls. They'd lash into them before going into battle.
I've eaten a few beans, they're ok, not great.

Do you think they would be better or worse if they weren't roasted?

Worse. Haven't tried, but I reckon the green ones are wicked hard.
    Become more brittle when roasted.

Some of the Bagel/Muffin places do the cold coffee drinks with crushed beans on top to boot! These are lovely.
