Paris - One Day

I'm heading to Paris on Sat. 13th September for a music gig. More specifically, I'll be around the 11th Arrondissement ('Staying on Rue du Faubourg du Temple, the gig is on Rue Oberkampf).

I'll have some free time in the afternoon and I was just wondering if there's anything of interest in that general area worth seeing. Also, would there be any particularly good streets for shops?

Where you are staying is quite close to imetiere du Pere Lachaise which can be quite interesting as a number of "famous people" are buried here. To get here from where your staying, walk to metro station Republique and get the number 3 line towards Gallieni and get off at Pere Lachaise.

Also around this area is Parc de Belleville. You are staying quite close to the Marais, where you can go to Place des Vosges, Maison de Victor Hugo, Bastille ( not too far out either), Musee Picasso.

My advice, go to Google Maps and type in the adress and see what else is around there.
