Golf in DCU?

A little birdie told me that there was a golf soc in DCU, is that true???

Aye, there's a golf society, don't know much about them. They may have a website if you google it.

No they tried to set one up. But they need at least 20 people to sign up for it to become a soc. Hope something is set up though

AFAIK they were going to get a team going last year but it fell through.

As i can recall there used to be one, the staff and students go. Also there is a big alumni golf meet at the K club every year but that may be a year or four for you:D check life.dcu.ie

There was one when Damien Fennelly and Podge Connolly were in DCU, but that was a few years ago now. I think there was a team last year and they played a few matches in the Irish colleges thing but I think they struggled to get the 5 or 6 players needed for a match so it got dumped pretty much. You could set one up and get it going again, but for most peolpe (me included) golf takes up to much drinking time while in college. But that said if you joined the society you could get student membership in Portmarnock for something like €200 which is a sweet deal.

There is still a Staff Golf society in DCU . There are approx 50 members and there is an outing once a month ( usually about 20 or so go out). The next outing is Deerpark on Wed 27th August 1:30pm tee time We allow guests if numbers are low for a fee of €10 euro plus the green fee. ( The guest fee is used to contribute towards the outing prizes -usually vino! )
