    Hi,

I played basketball competitively at club and school level. Im looking to get back playing as I havent played for 5 years or so (have been playing rugby since and got injured) Looking to play in the South Dublin area during the week. Im not looking for a serious set up, just a place where a group meets up once or twice a week and play for an hour or so.

I live in the Dundrum area.

If anyone knows of anywhere, It'd be appreciated.

http://www.dmbb.net/ and look at the teams

UCD isn't far from Dundrum and they have teams at lots of different levels. Now is the best time to be contacting these teams, leagues start in Sept / Oct

    Thanks for that!

I'll have a look and see what the craic is! Do you know if there's any groups around just playing for fun during the week?

You could have a look at http://www.dublinindoorsports.ie/basketballhome.php, mixed leagues and a good setup. I played for a part of a season last year and it was a good way to get back into it after being out of the game for a long time as well. I think the league starts sometime soon, cant remember.

Must check out the above. On the other hand I tried getting in contact with UCD Marion but no luck yet.

    How you fairing out Kickingking?

Well guys, finally managed to get someone from UCD Marian. I was told there rosters were full for the season.

To be honest I didn't find them that friendly. I mean an invite to training would've been nice.

time to go chasing another team.

Teams have started back playing already but you might be lucky and find someone who's looking for a player or two

Start going through the clubs here:

    http://www.dmbb.net/competitions_leagues.aspx?league=Division%204
    http://www.dmbb.net/competitions_leagues.aspx?league=Division%205

and then go to the club page here

    http://www.dmbb.net/clubs.aspx

And start emailing people or ringing people about joining

    Best of luck!

    Phil.

I'm looking to join a team too. It's been a few years since I played.

    Thanks for the links Phil!

And if anyone knows any teams within driving distance of Palmerstown/Lucan that might be looking for players, please let me know.

I'm interested in playing mixed basketball (intermediate/social) in the Dublin city centre / southside area. I know there's http://www.dublinindoorsports.ie/basketballhome.php but I'm not free on Thursday nights. :-(

    Any other mixed basketball options?

Check out dlbb.net and there'll be a list of clubs names with coaches/players contact numbers. As far as i know it may be too late to register names, but no harm in trying.
