Removing Stippled Ceilings

Hi. I've got stippled ceilings through out the house and I can't stand them and I'd like to remove them which is the best option and how much should it cost per room (av size of room is about 4.5m by 4.5m) Cheers

Stippled or Artex?

Artex installed up to late 80's can contain Asbestos.
Artex is usually quite thick in appearance.
