Posted this in region the other day, but more traffic (no pun intended) here.

Is it just me, or are the various CoCo's & utilities attempting to take the world record for the largest amount of works on one road? Pretty much from Brittas to Baltinglass is one long set of roadworks, with 4 different stop-go systems along the way, none of which give any thought whatsoever to where the greatest volume of traffic is coming from/going to. Blessington Village itself is by far the worst of them - traffic going through it from Dublin was backed up past Doran's Pit quarry and into the 100kmh zone on Monday evening. I quickly did a U-ey and went down Red Lane, but there's another bloody stop-go system down there!

Seriously, are there no guidelines concerning the maximum number of works that can take place on a given stretch of road at the same time? If not, there should be!
