I love the smell of prolapse in the morning.

Also, why are people using the American spelling? Don't know how to change your spell-check settings?

    Fail.
What are you talking about Willis? Women do not urinate through their vaginas, they pass children through them.

And in order to access the above, the vagina cannot be avoided, thus rendering your comment puzzling.

S'pose it would be like a female doc having to look at smelly, limp, veiny old geezers cocks all day - it's not exactly gonna turn her on is it.

I am making the point that if you have an STD you go to a Genito-urinary specialist, not a gynaecologist, so your original comment of Gynaecologists getting turned on by the sight of "saggy, loose, old, dry, flaky, covered in unsightly eruptions because of an STD" in response to the OP is moot - because that's not what Ob-Gyns treat.

Ah yeah, but I bet a gynaecologist is still gonna see plenty of the less pleasant ones.

I don't care about all the politcally correct b"ll£cks, men should not be allowed to be come gynaecologists. Any man who does is a bloody pervert! It should not be allowed!

    Perverts?

Are you one of those rabid right-wingers?

No. Just can't imagine what a lad's parents think when he says, "Mum, dad, for my career I've decided that I want to shove my fingers up random women's minges all day."

Anyway, surely the comfort of the patient should be paramount. Can't imagine many women like having a male doctor for down there. He could have become a cardiologist or something instead.

    I Agree...

And women shouldn't be allowed play golf, Drive cars, hold there own bank account, Work, Vote, or leave the chain that has them between the kitchen and bedroom.

If you had something seriously wrong would you refuse treatment based soley on the sex of the doctor??

Well I wouldn't be as angry as you are about it :o but I have wondered the very same thing. How come you never hear of female gynaecologists? Why aren't there "dick doctors"? And yeah, why would a guy decide to do it?

I think you need a mechanical engineering degree on top of your medical degree.

I know my female friends don't seem to care. In any case, they are really strict when it comes to the behaviour of male Ob-Gyns.

My sister is a doctor and during their gynaecology clinical exams a male student was suspended and failed for coming out of his clinic and going 'Wahey!' in a pervy manner.

What about gay men, shouldn't they be allowed?

And by extension, should gay women also not be allowed to become Ob-Gyns?

Every gynae I've ever had has been female. There don't seem to be any male ones in my part of the world luckily. I certainly would refuse treatment from one.

I think the very existence of this thread shows why men shouldn't be gynaecologists. Whether gay or straight. It is not appropriate.

Em yeah, probably? If i could get a female doctor I would definately choose that over having a male doctor!

Because women don't, going by your statement. But you have a point, women don't generally do it. And that's your answer. Somebody has to.

On top of which, peoples concept of the work of Ob Gyns is wildly miscontrued in this thread. It is primarily to do with childbirth, and doesn't solely consist of men getting up to the wrist in clam all day. A large part (I would wager the majority) is to do with the health of the whole reproductive system and any children it bears.

Well, I dunno, I've been examined by a female doctor before and I didn't give a rat's ass.

They're professionals. They see cocks and vaginas all day. There's nothing sexual about it.

So if there weren't so many blokes doing it, more women would take up this career. In countries where men are not allowed to do this there don't seem to be any shortage of female gynaes.

In fairness, a lot of the responses would make me tend to agree with you, but there is a train of thought that suggests that men choose gynaecology as a specialty because they can't have children themselves - the logic being that it's the next best thing...

I can't decide whether that's utter sh*te or could have a grain of truth in it, but either way, if I ever needed one, I think on balance I'd be more comfortable with a woman.

Medical student shouting "wahey", plus I have seen several news stories about male doctors abusing their female gynae patients. There was even a film about it on the true movies channel. It certainly does happen. And what about women who just don't want a male doctor because they don't feel comfortable with it? Do you think the woman is wrong for refusing? In Sweden recently a woman showed up at the gynaecologist, there to discover it was a male doctor. She asked for a female doctor instead. The male doctor complained about her and she was kicked off the clinic's list and not allowed treatment any more for "sexual discrimination" of the doctor. So, because she didn't feel comfortable with some random man poking around with her private bits, she is denied medical treatment. This is what political correctness leads to.

I'm not even going to enter in to a discussion with you, I find your particular breed endlessly annoying and fear for my monitor's wellbeing. :)
