Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been involved in the organisation of a few motorcycle runs in the past. Marshalling is ok provided the riders obey all rules of the road, in other words basically just outriders not really doing anything. Stopping traffic at junctions, etc. is illegal, only the Gardai can do this. A rider marshalling on one of our runs was threatened with arrest over this. Really a large cycle run needs Garda presence anyway for safety.

Sorry did'nt make the request very clear. Firstly its 10 mile leisure/fun/family bicycle ride on the quite back road between Leixlip and Dunboyne. Sunday 24th Aug 12 noon. We always have Garda presence, how many depends on Croke Park demands. The course involves eight outlying junctions which require static marshals with high viz and red flag solely for the purpose of warning motorist of the cyclist presence up ahead. Where it is neccessary for riders to cross a junction it might be necessary to supervise groups accross at intervals when safe. The event is non comperitive and the lead pace is strictly regulated. Time taken about 80 minutes Slower and younger riders take a shorter loop, it usualy works out that everyone finishes together. So if your in the area and can give a hand it would be much appreciated.

if there static marshals then anyone could do it
and traffic must stop for a flagman

Only a flagman in charge of road works.
Rules of the Road lists the people you must stop for, randomer holding a flag isn't one of them.
