A farm building was built 20 years ago but a neighbour is now talking about it being unauthorised development.... what is time limitations for reporting/dealing with unauthorised development? Thank you.

the statute of limitations has most likely elapsed, seeing as the initial unauthorisation was 20 years ago. I think the statute is 7 years for unauthorised development commenced after 11 march 2002.... so for any development prior to that i would be extremly surprised if it was still applicable....

really, your question is a legal one, and one only a solicitor with a good knowledge of planning law could answer.

Some of these matters do end up in court and as syd stated you need to see a solicitor.
